Osiris is an Egyptian God worshipped in ancient times, who can be associated with the afterlife, the underworld, and the dead. He was a fertility god who taught the people how to farm the land and worship the gods.
He was killed by his brother Seth, who threw the body in a river. His mourning wife Isis found the corpse and kept it hidden from Seth, but the body was discovered, and Seth cut it into pieces and scattered these across the Earth. Isis spent many months collecting the severed parts and made the body whole again. Osiris then became the god who judged the dead as they entered the underworld.
